Our Guide to Supacolour Transfers.

What are Supacolour Transfers and WHEN IS IT A BETTER OPTION THAN SCREEN PRINTING?

Faced with complex jobs with high color counts, low minimums, difficult-to-print fabrics, and demanding turnaround times, Supacolour is the ideal solution. But what is a Supacolor Transfer and when is it the best choice?

Supacolour are Hybrid digital & screen printed transfers that last.

Supacolour is created with a combination of digital and screen printing techniques, making it a true hybrid transfer. Supacolour can go beyond CMYK, giving us the ability to print millions of colors and reproduce nearly any design with minimal limitations. Unlike one-size-fits-all transfers, Supacolour transfers are specifically made for the material they’re going to be applied to. So, whether it’s a t-shirt, jacket, cap, or bag, the transfer will survive whatever life throws at it. Independent testing proves that even after 70 washes, they’ll still look great. Plus, they’re made with water-based inks and certified OEKO-TEX 100, so you can be confident they’re non-toxic.

Is Supacolour a better option than screen printing?

Because of the low set-up cost, Supacolour allows us to provide high-quality full-colour prints with minimums of as few as 12 prints. In addition, Supacolour can be the best option for highly complex and colourful artwork, but is it better than Screen printing? Well, Yes and No. It all depends on your design and order volume. Following are some most popular use case scenarios and the best print method for each.

HEADWEAR

Caps cannot be screen printed directly, so Supacolour transfers are hands down the best option for headwear, bags etc.

APPAREL

If you are ordering between 12-40pcs per design and your design contains over 6 colours, then Supacolour is your best option and value for money.

1-2 Colour prints

If your design has 1-4 colours, then screen printing is far and away the best option. Screen Printing offers a wide variety of ink options, and larger print sizes and is still the Gold Standard for durability and value for money.

full colour bulk orders

When it comes to large orders, screen printing is still the best. Using methods like Simulated Process Screen Printing we can offer softer prints and better pricing. The preferred print option for streetwear & fashion labels.

SPECIALTY INKS

With Screen Printing, we can offer a wide variety of inks including Soft Additives, Glow in the Dark, Puff, Metallic, Fluorescent Colours, Discharge, Foil, Glitter and more.

SUPER SOFT PRINTS

If you have a large solid print area, Supacolour prints will start feeling like a sticker on a shirt. With screen printing, we can offer super soft and breathable prints with Water-based and Discharge inks.

How do I decide which option is best?

Answer: you don’t need to decide on the best option instead our print experts will advise you of the best process for your order. All you need to do is send us your quote request and our quote will include the best print method for your design and order volume. It is also important to understand that the order with the most restrictions, is an order under 30 shirts with a full-colour print. 30x multi colour designs will be far too expensive to screen print, so you will be restricted to using Supacolour only with a maximum print size of 300mm x 420mm and no specialty inks.

Our expert team is available 9 am-4 pm Monday-Friday to advise you on how to get the best out of your concept and order volume. You can contact us on 09-620 0040 or talk to us via Chat.
